Country Cottage

12x16 on canvas panel
Age seems to give any subject more character. The slightly distressed and overgrown landscape adds to the beauty of this painting.

Pike's Market

8x10 on masonite board
Recently took a trip to Seattle for a friend's wedding and visited Pike's Market. Very cool place lots to see and got some good reference photos. I haven't done much with night paintings, but I like the way this one turned out!

Janet brought home quite a few pictures from her trip to Scotland for me to use as painting references. There was lots interesting things in the photo to make it good painting subject.

After the Storm

16x20 on stretched canvas
This painting is a little larger than most of my work. I don't like to tackle subjects that require several days to complete. The limited pallet and good contrasts throughout the painting make this one work. Even on a hot August day in Florida, this is the place to be.

Sunny Day Farm

8x10 on masonite board
Finished this painting months ago. The original colors were a little more subdued and the sky was quite different. I pulled it out and went back to work. After playing around with a few things, I think it now is "wall worthy".
I decided to keep playing with this painting. Silo was just wrong to be in the center of the composition and rearrange the sky.

Quiet Marsh

6x12 on canvas panel
Marsh scenes have lots to incorporate to make an interesting subject. Lot of different reflections in the water and good sense of distance looking out towards the horizon line.

Sunlit Marsh

9x12 on canvas panel
I haven't  been painting for a while, so I'm posting a painting I did late last year. This marsh is just a few miles from my home. I never tire of the beauty and color of natural landscape.

Off The Hinge

9x12 on canvas panel
This piece was painted specifically for the St Augustine Art Assoc. show. I am aways drawn to the look of wood and metal that has been exposed to natural elements over time.
