Farm Sheds

8x10 on masonite board
I am enjoying painting these rural farm scenes. The natural landscape in a mix with  the aging buildings makes for great blend of textures and contrast.

Red Barn

6x12 on canvas panel
Most of the midwest farmland is pretty flat. When you are on a high spot, you can see for miles. This painting captures the rolling hills that are dotted with barns and farm houses. The corn rows add a great texture ellement to the painting

Tin Roof

 9x12 on canvas board
In the south, you see lots of old houses with tin roofs. Rust may not be a good thing structurally, but it really adds warmth and charactor to the subject!

Back Road

6x6 on masonite board
Growing up in the midwest, I always enjoyed exploring the back roads running through the rural farmland. Small paintings like these are little widows that can transport you ( for a moment) to a peaceful, warm sunny day in rural America.

Midwest Field

8x10 on masonite board
I have been making an effort to paint more during the last few weeks. This landscape is a view through a wildflower patch and across a midwest farm field.

Bait Shop

12x16 on canvas board
This bait shop is just a few miles from my home. The subject has lots of little details to create an interesting painting.

Packard

12x12 on masonite board
Wow! it has been two years since I have posted. Just finish this painting of a vintage Packard. Too many things getting in the way of my painting.
