Blues

5x7 on canvas board
I have been working on quite a few landscape painting. It was an enjoyable switch to paint the latest challenge for the Different Strokes from Different Folks. I cropped the image down fairly close to get some recognizable detail in the face. I purposely left out detail in the background to bring more attention to the character.

Jim, thank for visiting my blog! Nice cropping and detail on the face and shirt! The dark background really brings out the highlights on the figure. Good Job!

Really nice Jim. I like the background. The focus is the figure.

Great background - it really pushes the figure forward and gives it focus. I like this one a lot!

A solid figure painting, Jim. I like it against the warm, dark background.
